Students should budget on Euro 350 - Euro 550 per month for a room rental. Often students who rent just a room don't need to worry about paying extra for electricity and gas.
Public Transport
Students who don't wish to make use of the free SDC transport can make use of the public transport. Students under 26 years of age qualify for a discounted student transport pass. This allows students to make use of the Milano public transport system for Euro 17 per month. Students over the age of 26 years can purchase a monthly pass on the transport for Euro 30 per month.
Personal Spending Money
This is up to the student and how much shopping/travelling they wish to do. Many students live on a humble budget and don't go shopping often. Milano caters for all budgets and many find affordable shopping options as well as the high end designer boutique stores. Students living in Milano often visit other local cities/towns on the weekends so it may be necessary to budget some spending money for travel expenses.
