Italy boasts some of the most extravagant and inspiring interiors to match the magnificent architecture that graces each and every Italian town and city. Master decorators and designers have called Milan home and this is where you can be inspired and learn about the wonderful world of Interior design.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
In this intensive course you will receive a detailed introduction into the exciting Italian interior design industry:
Visit the beautiful palaces, villas and castles of Milan
Learn about furniture history by actually seeing historic pieces preserved in Milan
Learn how to read floor plans
Learn how to draft a basic floor plan
Visit suppliers and retailers and learn about fine Italian interior products
Open your eyes to colour theory
Improve your decorating skills by learning about flooring, lighting, wall applications and window treatments
Acquire the skill of completing an interior illustration
Put together mood boards just as you would for clients

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE COURSE
Orientation
SDC staff hosts an orientation day where we walk you through the city and show you all the major sites and places that you may need to go during your stay. At orientation we will also educate you on day to day life in Italy, health and safety and Italian customs and culture.
Language
The course is taught in English by International lecturers from around the world. No need to study Italian before you arrive. Nothing stopping you from learning a little while you're here!
Social days
Each week you will have a planned social event by the College where all students will get together and do something exciting. Weekends are free so students like to travel a little and see all the treasures of Italy.
Learning in the City
Summer in Milan is beautiful! We don't waste all our time inside the Campus. Some lectures and assignments are conducted outside in parks, piazzas, cathedrals or even in a castle.

If you require accommodation SDC will assist you according to your budget. Apply in advance as accommodation can fill up closer to summer time with the popularity of these courses.
